How To Enter The House Of Hope BG3 Complete Guide

Entering the House of Hope in Baldur's Gate 3 allows players to access one of Act 3's most rewarding and challenging locations. The domain of the devil Raphael holds powerful artifacts and pivotal quest conclusions, but reaching it requires performing a specific ritual in the Lower City. Understanding the necessary preparation and key items ensures a smooth journey into the Nine Hells.
Finding the Devil's Fee
To begin the journey, players must travel to the Lower City and locate a shop called the Devil's Fee. Inside, you will meet the shopkeeper Helsik, who possesses the knowledge and ritual components needed to open a portal. Negotiating with her or exploring her quarters upstairs will reveal the instructions required for the pathway.
Gathering the Ritual Items
Unlocking the portal requires five distinct ritual items: a skull, a Coin of Mammon, a diamond, incense, and an Infernal Marble. Players can either purchase these components directly from Helsik, strike a deal with her, or acquire them through careful exploration and theft. Securing all five pieces is mandatory before attempting to activate the ritual circle on the upper floor.
Arranging the Star Points Correctly
Once upstairs in the ritual room, place the items in their specific spots on the pentagram. Position the skull on the star point near the altar, then move clockwise to place the Coin of Mammon on the next point. Skip one point clockwise to drop the diamond, follow with the incense on the next point, and set the Infernal Marble directly in the center.
Stepping Through the Portal
When every ritual component is placed properly, the circle lights up on fire and opens a glowing portal to Avernus. Before stepping inside, ensure your party is fully prepared for tough battles, as fast traveling back to camp is disabled once you enter. Stepping through completes your entry into Raphael's domain, setting the stage to reclaim your contract or free trapped allies.
